Ocean Park Academy Hong Kong - Mystery of Marine Life Stranding

This programme is supported by the "HSBC 150th Anniversary Charity Programme"

Hong Kong marine life is under threats of stranding! Students will visit the "Hong Kong Marine Life Stranding and Education Centre" with medical equipments which used to examine marine animals and conduct real-life case study to unlock the stranding myths.

Application Notes

1. This programme is only available for Secondary Grade 1 to 3 students from Secondary schools classified under the school level of Education Bureau of the HKSAR Government (including special schools among this school level), and not available for schools classified as "others".
2. On the programme day, participants will enjoy free educational programme, transportation services between Ocean Park and the school, and in-park meal. For this programme, at least 30% of participants in each application must be the recipients for the below schemes:
  • Comprehensive Social Security Assistance (CSSA) Scheme
  • School Textbook Assistance (TA) Scheme
  • Student Travel Subsidy (STS) Scheme 
3. Programme participants must be students and school staffs registered at the school listed on the application form.
4. This programme will be conducted in Cantonese or English only.
5. Online application must be completed at least 14 working days prior to the programme. Late application would not be accepted. Programme enrolment is subjected to a first-come-first-served basis.  
6. The programme is available on specific days between 2020 and 2021. 
7. For each session, the minimum number of participants is 22, including 20 students and 2 teachers. The maximum number of participants is 55, including 50 students and 5 teachers. 1 teacher complimentary ticket is issued per 10 student-participation. Teacher(s) can accompany students in the classroom session. The teacher complientary ticket is invalid for student use, and vice versa. Other than the above complimentary ticket for teacher, additional teacher quota for the programme is not available. 
8. For each online application, only 1 programme session could be chosen. Please submit a new application if you wish to apply for another session. 
Please note:  A maximum 2 successful applications could be granted per school and the participants must be 2 different groups of students. 
9. The “Declaration Form” Download - Declaration Form must be submitted with the online application. The “Declaration Form” must be endorsed with authorised signature from the school's responsible person and a valid school stamp (Maximum file size: 10 MB).  
10. Ocean Park provides free-of-charge two-way transportation between the school and Ocean Park. The pick-up and drop-off locations must be the applicant's school address. Applicant should specify the pick-up location, pick-up time and return time, as well as ensuring a sufficient travel time. Participants must arrive the Main Entrance of Ocean Park 30 minutes prior to the programme start. Participants must be punctual to arrive at the designated gathering location. Latecomers will not be admitted.  
11. After online submission, an acknowledgement email will be issued to the email address provided by the applicant. This application acknowledgement confirms successful submission of the application to Ocean Park only. The application is still subjected to approval by Ocean Park.  
12. Upon receipt of the application, Ocean Park may contact the applicant via telephone or email. When the application is officially approved, Ocean Park will issue a "Confirmation Email" to the school.  
13. The apporved programme quota is non-transferable and non-changeable.   

Terms and Conditions

1. For this programme, additional participant is not accepted on site. 
2. Upon programme confirmation by Ocean Park, the arrangements of meal, transportation and number of participants are non-changeable. For any special circumstances, please contact "Discovery and Education Department" via hotline (852) 3923 2323. 
3. Admission tickets can only be used on the date of validation. Rescheduling is not available after confirmation. 
4. Ocean Park will provide transportation arrangment between Ocean Park and the school. The school must provide time and location for pick-up and drop-off. If the chosen time and location was not available, Ocean Park reserves the right to make alternative arrangements.
5. School applicant must provide a signed declaration form. Ocean Park only accepts application with a valid declaration form.  
6. At programme day, school staff should present the "Confirmation Email" for admission tickets and meal collection. All pariticpants should enter Ocean Park at the same time. 
7. Participants must be punctual to meet at the designated gathering location. Latecomers will not be admitted and the programme cannot be extended beyond scheduled time.
8. Participants may bring a reasonable quantity of food and beverages for personal consumption inside Ocean Park.
9. Baggage or bulky item over the size of 56cm x 36cm x 23cm is not allowed in any attraction or exhibit inside Ocean Park. Participants may store it at the "Baggage Rental Counter" (next to the Stroller and Wheelchair Rental Counter at Aqua City, The Waterfront).
10. All photos and videos taken at Ocean Park are not allowed for commercial use without prior approval from Ocean Park Corporation. Admission to the Park signifies your permission and agreement for Ocean Park to take and use your photographs or images for educational and promotional purposes.
11. Applicants are not allowed to advertise in the name of "Ocean Park Hong Kong" without prior approval from Ocean Park Corporation. 
12. In the occurence of special occasions or below situations, the programme will be cancelled and reschedule arrangement is not available:
  • The Hong Kong Observatory issues a Red or Black Rainstorm Warning Signals; or
  • The Hong Kong Observatory issues Tropical Cyclone Warning Signals Number 3 or above; or
  • Announcement from the Education Bureau for class suspension.
13. Programme contents and dates are subject to change or cancellation depending on special occasions and weather conditions.
14. All guests must comply with Ocean Park Bylaw, Safety Rules, and Ocean Park's Rules and Regulations which are accessible at the entrance and other locations throughout Ocean Park. Ocean Park shall be under no liability or responsbility for any loss of any kind or any damage to any property of any person in Ocean Park. 
15. Ocean Park reserves the right to make final decision on application procedure and approval.
16. Personal Data Collection Statement:
  • After the programme date, we will take all practicable steps to either securely delete or irreversibly anonymize your personal data only for so long as is necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in Privacy Policy Statement.
  • In relation to use of Your Information in direct marketing, we will only do so subject to your consent and you have the right to opt-out from such use. You may also change your preference with regard to use of Your Information in direct marketing at any time.
  • If applicant insisted not to provide any mandatory personal data required on the application form and declaration form, Ocean Park reserves the right not to process the application.
